Layaway is here!

We’re excited to announce that a layaway option is now live on our main website, giving the community a more flexible path to the hand-built gear they love.

Since day one, our goal has been to offer the best possible analog hardware at a price point that respects the people who use it. As a small, hands-on team handling everything in-house, from design and assembly to final QA and shipping, we are always looking for ways to make our gear as accessible as possible. A layaway program felt like a natural and long-overdue next step, and we are genuinely happy to be making it happen.

What does layaway actually look like?

The basic starting plan is four payments over three months, with no credit check required. Your unit is reserved, and added to our queue to be built from scratch upon the first payment. Depending on the lead time (or whether you complete payments early) we will hold your unit after it’s been finished, then ship it upon completion of the final payment. At AudioScape, we believe in creating zero compromise, boutique analog hardware for the discerning user, for a reasonable cost. No Compromises, no BS. Many years of research, development and experimentation have gone into each product; resulting in units that can be your daily-driving, rock-solid workhorses for years and years to come. Each and every unit we sell is hand made in small batches, one at a time in the USA - right here in our Daytona Beach, Florida facility!

Why are we offering a layaway program?

To answer the call! We’ve gotten a lot of emails over the years asking for split payment plans, or the ability to put deposits down on AudioScape products. So for us, this seems like a natural progression as we grow, we want to offer as much flexibility as possible.

Personally, when I was coming up, I had a very positive experience using layaway for a big purchase. I was 16 years old and working at my first job over the summer. I’ll date myself and say it was 1998, and there may or may not have been Golden Arches involved ;) The G.A.S was already strong with me back then, and I kept staring at a PRS Silver CE22 electric guitar. I would just go to the music store and stare at the thing (it got awkward pretty fast). Eventually I noticed the store offered a layaway payment option. I put my first payment down with a clear goal in mind. The payments were flexible, so every two weeks I would get my paycheck, I would then go down to the music store and plop down more cash. Fast forward to the end of summer, and I put my last payment down and finally took possession of one lovely Silver CE22. Not only was the process easy, but in the long run I appreciated this particular guitar even more. It’s still one of my favorites and has been a workhorse all these years. Fast forward again to AudioScape’s first NAMM conference in 2019, one of the first manufacturers to stop by our booth and test out our gear was Paul Reed Smith himself. Pretty amazing how it all can come full circle!

Simply put, layaway as a concept, is tried and true. You put payments down for a product, and after the final payment is made you get said item. We are not trying to reinvent the wheel and do payment plans and ship gear in advance, that can get messy and sloppy. By simply adding a way to make split payments up front, and in your own time, we're adding a flexible and a no stress payment option.
